Featured skateboarders
We feature women who inspire us not just because of their skateboarding abilities, but the way they lead their lives. We focus on women who are kind, bold, and carve their own path. Women of all skill levels are selected.
At Kateboards it is important to us that you know whatever your level of riding is, whatever style, you are welcomed here. We hope you find some inspiration in the words below and find opportunities to connect with the many backgrounds of women who skate.
If you are interested in being featured or know of someone who would be great please email us at info@kateboards.com and include the person’s name in the subject line. Check back for new interviews with local women and women from around the world.
We are beyond excited to feature Laura Thornhill Caswell, female skateboarding pioneer, as Skater of the Week for Kateboards. The title should really be “Skater of the last 4+ decades” with the amount she has contributed to the progression of females in skateboarding since the 70s.
We are seeing a surge in the amount of women getting involved in skateboarding + taking it to the next level. WIth this rise it is so important to also pay tribute to the pioneers, the ones who paved the path for us all. And, Laura is without a doubt a skateboarding pioneer.
Laura’s extensive involvement in skateboarding along with her incredibly supportive, bold, humble, and kind nature are just a few reasons why we respect and love her. We shook things up and did a video interview for Skater of the Week with Eva Borrelli. Eva is full of life, personality, and talents at the ripe young age of 3! We love her tenacious spirit and kind nature. She is quite the force and seeing her develop into this beautiful little human has been so fun to be a part of. Enjoy the cuteness as we learn a little bit about this precocious little being. Much love to the Borrelli family!

This week we are featuring Kerryann De La Cruz who we originally met at a Kateboards skate meet up this past summer. After learning more about Kerryann we wanted to share her story. The most inspiring aspect of Kateboards is getting to know people with all different backgrounds who all share a love for skateboarding, pushing their own limits, and leading a life that is beyond what is traditionally accepted and believed. In our interview with Kerryann she tells about how she got started in skateboarding, her experiencing racing cars and motorcycles, and the people who inspire her.
This week we are featuring Matilde Vedove who is Italian and lives in Barcelona. We love the way Matilde inspires other women to skate and creates a positive environment for others. We first met her through our friend Jade, founder of Babes n Boards, and have been excited to see her endeavors with women in skateboarding unfold in Europe. She shares with us what she loves about skateboarding and the impact it has on others, the camps she runs in Barcelona, and how she created a healthy lifestyle for herself through skateboarding. Enjoy!

I first met Amelia while working at Arbor Skateboards in 2011. I remember being inspired by her talents and stoked to have female representation on our skate team. It has been a joy and an honor to watch Amelia progress as a skateboarder, but also in the ways she commits herself to the progression of female skateboarders through Exposure Skate that she co-founded. Kateboards launched at Exposure in 2018 and I could not imagine a better setting. Amelia has had a huge impact on the skateboarding world especially for females and we are proud to feature her. We hope you feel inspired and connected to skateboarding after reading her interview and checking out her social media. @ameliabrodka @exposureskate @skaterising
Thanks for everything, Amelia!
